Southill Vets’ highly skilled Veterinary Surgeons have many decades of experience between them performing routine and more complex surgical procedures.

Our Wincanton and Gillingham surgeries both have fully equipped operating theatres and separate cat and dog in-patient recovery wards for a comfortable rest post-surgery.
Surgical treatments we offer include:
- Routine procedures like pet neutering and lump removal
- Dental treatments and tooth extractions
- Emergency surgical intervention for acute injury or illness
- Removal of foreign bodies
- Emergency caesareans
- Internal investigations and biopsies
- GVD surgery – Gastric Dilatation Volvulus (Bloat)
We also have a visiting Orthopaedic Surgeon at our Wincanton practice who performs TPLO cruciate ligament surgeries and procedures to treat other musculoskeletal conditions.
Pre-op instructions
Use our veterinary team’s pre-op instructions to help you get your pet ready for an upcoming procedure.
Post-op care
Following your pet’s surgery, our team will call you to discuss how the procedure went and arrange a discharge appointment time. You will receive any post-op care and instructions you will need to follow at home. You may also be given a follow-up appointment with a Vet or a Nurse. If your pet needs overnight monitoring following a procedure, our team will discuss this with you.
