Preventative parasite treatments for pets of all ages

Regular preventative flea and worm treatments are essential to your pets’ health, and yours too. Unprotected dogs and cats can easily pick up fleas and worms, which can affect them, other smaller pets in your household, your human family, and your home.

The best course of action is to ensure cats and dogs are always up to date with preventative parasite treatments, whatever their age.

If rabbits and other small pets end up with a flea or worm problem, we have specific treatments for these species.

Types of pet parasites

FLEAS

Fleas can be persistent if they are not kept away with regular treatments for your pets. Fleas breed extremely quickly and you can have an infestation in your home before you know it, causing an uncomfortable situation for everyone involved.

WORMS

Worming your pet is always advised. Some worms can be harmful to us humans as well as your pet. Lungworm in dogs is particularly nasty and can be fatal for them. Regular worming for your pets is essential and can be done alongside flea treatments. Please ask a member of our team about how often to worm your pet.

TICKS

Ticks can be extremely harmful if they are not dealt with straight away as they can transmit Lyme disease. Ticks are more prevalent in certain areas of the UK and during spring and summer but can be problematic all year round. Talk to our team about whether it is advisable to treat your pet against ticks.

Please Note: Most parasite treatments are Prescription-only medications. Therefore, these items must be checked by two members of our veterinary team, before they are handed to you. There may be occasions when we are unable to hand them out there and then to you, especially if we do not have two members of the team available.
